These guns are mounted on a massive stone plinth outside the Imperial War Museum in London, where they greet visitors to the museum.
They started life mounted on war ships early in the twentieth century and were retired from "active service" after the second world war.
When in use they were capable of firing a one tonne shell about thirty kilometres.
